2 StarsBIG FAT SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!!!Just a little heads up, I'm in total mean mode. If you loved this book, don't read this review. I thought this was the worst D/s story yet. This was an exercise in utter aggravation. I kept waiting for it to improve but nothing doing. I finally got to where I couldn’t stand it and started fast forwarding. Fifteen minutes…“he licked her nipples”; ten minutes…”nipples”; twenty minutes”she licked his nipples” (ARRRGGHHH!!) Forty five minutes… [...]

It was just too cliched and predictable and I am glad I didnt go for the drip feed of 6 books. However be warned this Kindle version is almost 11 quid and for that price I want something more, something different. Thsi is not a new story. Been done so often, familiar plot and familiar outcome.

This is a very short book but with lot of sex and ligth BDSM scenes and not very dramatic!!! And that's the good part, because the story and the characters are very predictable. However, and because it is very short, is a good book to decompress!

**This is a Window Seat Blog review readinginthewindowseat.blo**I really liked this book! It's the first by Opal Carew that's I've read, and I definitely plan on reading more by her! Originally, this book was released in six parts, but I bought the book in its entirety. While I can see where it would have been split into sections, I'm glad I read it all together. And I literally did. I finished the book in a day. I loved Matt and Kate, as well as that we were able to see into both of their mi [...]

I’ve avoided this one for the simple fact it was released as a serial. I hate serials. I will never understand the logic behind releasing a book chapter by chapter and making readers wait between releases, especially when you’re dealing with avid readers. I love to read. I read almost a full novel every day (when I have the time), so to wait for months to get to a new chapter is just silly. It takes more than a few chapters to capture a reader and make them fall in love with your characters. [...]

This book was so bad! I hate when a story starts at the 3/4 mark and then just gives us limited back-story.I have trouble connecting to the characters. Why wouldn't you rather read about 'the meeting','the persuit',& 'the catch'? Why should I feel any connection to characters when I didn't get to be drawn into their relationship as it happened? I can't even remember names of some of the characters today & I just read this yesterday. It was predictable and the had too many sex scenes.I don' [...]

This is the first installment in a serialized novel. Kate is a modern business woman. She has a secret. She has left the man she loved because he was a Dom and she found herself wanting to submit. It scares her how much so shes run to a different state and started up a new business. Only now it seems her past is about to catch up to her. This is a short novelette. Just a tease or hint of what is to come. Fans of Opal Carew know it will be hot and steamy. I can’t wait for the next installment. My [...]

I'm very glad that I read this book in it's entirety because it would have driven me nuts to have to wait for each book. This is a story about how communication is the key to all relationships. Without it, there can be years of regret. Matt and Kate's story tells of love finding it's way back.

First published as a six-part e serial novel, Opal Carew's His to Command is the scorching tale of one woman's surrender at the hands of a dominant billionaire. Now available for the first time as a complete book, this edition features sizzling new bonus material. Meet a man who's gorgeous, wealthy, powerful, and who demands just one thing—his lover's complete submission. Now she's about to place herself under his command—heart, body and soul. His to Command by Opal Carew is a compilation of a six part e-serial. This may seem to be your typical billionaire BDSM addicted hero tale with a heroine who’s willing to bend over and say “sir” and allow the kinky hero control of her in the bedroom and elsewhere. I was pleasantly surprised to see that His to Command features two mature adults who have been hurt because of miscommunication and some trickery from the hero’s ex-lover. This is a perfect tale for those who enjoy erotic roman [...]

Awful BookI ended up stopping reading it and read 'This Man' instead. However, being a person who must finish everything, I decided to go back and finish it. Awful, just plain awful. This was my first book by Opal Carew and I wanted so much to find another good author to read. This clearly was not it.Story line: 0 stars. Unrealistic that two very successful business people (Matt and Kate) break up and not communicate a reason for the breakup for two years. And they were in love with each other, [...]

“It’s not you, it’s me.” Countless people have heard this sentiment through the eons of time. However, in the case of Matt and Kate, it really is Kate. This is not a story where the female character is being forced to become a submissive because of the male character having issues with the need to control and dominate her. Matt is a dominant so it would seem they would have the perfect relationship since Kate is a submissive. The problem is that Kate just can’t seem to come to grips wi [...]

There are six parts to this series of eBooks. I have completed Part 1: THE CHASE featuring billionaire Matt Pearce and business consultant Kate Hayward.Part one sets up the story of how Kate and Matt met and some information on why she left him. While pursuing her career in a new location she spots him at a local mall one Saturday. Coincidence, maybe but when she sees him again she knows he's been looking for her. The issue is Kate had problems accepting the dominant role in their former relatio [...]

Unfortunately I was disappointed by this book. It has an interesting idea - reuniting past lovers and the heroine willingly agrees to learn submission at the hands of the hero. But despite my hopes that the shared history would make Kate and Matt's behavior seem more natural and their feelings more real, I just couldn't feel the love between them. They both seemed irrational to me - she went running in panic in a mall to escape him, like he's going to kill her if he sees her, and he had no idea [...]

3 Stars - His to Command is an erotic romance by Opal Carew.Although hyped as a D/s story, His to Command is more of an erotic romance with a few BDSM elements. Truthfully, neither character fit the role of dominant or submissive, which becomes evident early on in the read. I would have liked a little more backstory on the hero and heroine, but what I really would have enjoyed was for the antagonist to get the comeuppance she so justly deserved. Thankfully, the story ends with a satisfying HEA [...]

There is a REALLY good storyline here (hence the 2 lonely star rating lol), and it's been told by many other authors in slightly different fashion, but Opal Carew didn't do it right. I was bored out of my mind. The writing was just so stiff, I couldn't wait for it to be over. I didn't even like the erotica and I sighed every time I turned the page because there was always another one waiting for me .Matt's character was just plain stupid. For a billionaire Dom, he really didn't have his shit tog [...]

I really disliked this book, and for quite a few reasons. The first reason is because the whole book seems to be written in third person which drove me up the walls! How am I suppose to connect with the characters when all we call them is "he" and "she"? There is never a moment when I actually feel like I am connecting with either person. Okay so she moves to a new town when she has to leave New York, I just didn't feel that pain. Then her ex shows up and they find out she was whipped until she [...]

HIS TO COMMAND was definitely an intriguing read. After reading ILLICIT by the same author, I jumped right into this book. I was very impressed at how Ms. Carew hooked me once again from the beginning. It was such a fast read which I wasn’t expecting. It was a story about love, romance and dominance. I am not really into the whole BDSM and have read it before and wasn’t impressed. This story however wasn’t that bad. I was surprised. Overall, a quick, very well written and recommended read. [...]

I read this in it's entirety, not in serial form, and really liked that. I think it read well - and reading it straight wasn't "sectionized" like some other serials are. Both characters were great. The "big misunderstanding" made sense, and was explained. I appreciated the characters owning up to their actions and taking responsibility. There was one time when the hero keeps trying to tell the heroine something but she's all "no I want sex now!" and then she's all "I can't believe you didn't tell [...]

SPOILER ALERTI would not recommend this book!! 1. The main characters have a relationship that abruptly ends and book starts off two years later. We don't get their back story. Which made it very hard to understand the characters.2. The first 30% of the book nothing happens and is so boring!!3. The DOM part of the book was just odd (the reason it occurred) 4. His denial of his love but wanting to train her for another made no sense at all. 5. And 50% of the book is just sex. It didn't add anythi [...]

I thought this would work better as a second part of a book series. It would have been great if there was some kind of prequel to this book that would describe events like how Matt and Kate met, how the relationship grew and the events that led to her leaving. Reading them rehashing the past in this book seems like I was just seeing the surface of their relationship. This book didn't dive deep enough. Also, I thought the character of Matt Pearce was kind of flat and wanted to see more dimension. [...]
